Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a certificate of CPD training in NeuroMassage for Brain Injuries. This certificate may support your eligibility for specialist massage insurance with providers such as Towergate or Westminster Insurance, depending on your existing qualifications and policy terms.
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
Explain the principles of NeuroMassage and describe how they apply to clients with acquired or traumatic brain injuries.
Identify relevant anatomical structures and dermatomes affected in brain injury and understand how this influences sensory and motor responses.
Recognise contraindications and adapt massage appropriately, particularly when clients experience seizures, spasticity, or changes in consciousness or communication.
Support client dignity and emotional wellbeing through safe positioning, accessible communication, and trauma-aware care practices.
Understand and support skin health, including risks linked to immobility, reduced sensation, or postural challenges after brain injury.
Describe the different types and causes of brain injury, including traumatic (TBI) and non-traumatic (e.g. stroke, hypoxia), and their effects on body systems.
Recognise varied client presentations, such as cognitive fatigue, speech difficulties, sensory overload, and emotional lability, and adjust sessions with care.
Apply clinical reasoning through case studies, using scope-aware decision-making and inclusive, client-centred planning.
Market and deliver your services ethically and professionally, using clear, respectful messaging for clients and their support networks.

3. Finish the case study exam module.
