You’ll explore key topics including:

Contraindications and scope-aware adaptations

Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a certificate of CPD training in NeuroMassage for Motor Neurone Disease. This certificate may support your eligibility for specialist massage insurance with providers such as Towergate or Westminster Insurance, depending on your existing qualifications and individual policy terms.

Explain the core principles of NeuroMassage and how they apply to clients with neurological conditions, specifically Motor Neurone Disease.
Identify key anatomical structures and dermatomes relevant to massage therapy for clients with compromised nervous and muscular function.
Recognise contraindications and high-risk scenarios in clients with MND, and adapt or withhold treatment appropriately in line with safe practice.
Support client welfare with confidence, maintaining dignity, consent, emotional safety, and trauma-aware communication throughout the session.
Assess and maintain skin integrity, understanding common skin vulnerabilities in people with MND and applying appropriate protective measures.
Describe the causes, types, and progression of Motor Neurone Disease and understand how it affects motor function, respiration, communication, and mobility.
Interpret how MND may present in clients with varied symptoms, emotional responses, and needs—and adapt massage sessions accordingly.
Apply learning to real-world scenarios by analysing and responding to a detailed MND case study, demonstrating clinical reasoning and ethical decision-making.
